Maria is the Managing Partner of our firm and a Supreme Court lawyer. She started working with Professor D. Avgitidis on 2002, whereas on 2010 she participated in the establishment of the Firm as a founding member.
She specializes in the fields of business and corporate law, capital market law, insolvency & bankruptcy law, commercial contracts and banking law, both in terms of advisory and judicial practice. She has successfully undertaken challenging cases, covering the whole spectrum of corporate and business law and is an expert in insolvency procedures. She has achieved the conclusion and judicial ratification of complex rehabilitation agreements, concerning medium and large companies, as well as the judicial and out-of-court settlement of intricate shareholders disputes. In the capital market sector, she has successfully undertaken investor/consumer cases, while for many consecutive years she has provided legal assistance to listed companies in relation to both day-to-day business, as well as dealing with special issues of capital market law.
She has contributed to collective works in the wider field of commercial law (capital market, bankruptcy, resolution), and has also made relevant publications in legal journals. She works with “NOMIKI BIBLIOTHIKI” (publishing company) as a seminar lecturer in insolvency law (bankruptcy, resolution, out-of-court debt settlement mechanism).
She was a member of the legislative committee on the reorganization of the Greek Energy Market and the establishment of the Greek Energy Exchange (now Law n. 4512/2018, arts. 73 et seq), of the legislative committee for the amendment of the Bankruptcy Code with Law 4446/2016 and the drafting of the Presidential Decree 133/2016 on insolvency administrators as well as a member of the legislative committee for the simplification of the bankruptcy of small businesses.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Consumer Protection Law Association (E.DI.P.KA.).
She graduated from Law School of Democritus University of Thrace and holds a Master’s Degree (LL.M) in Corporate Law from the Law School of Heidelberg (Karls–Ruprecht Universität Heidelberg– Germany).
She speaks English and German.
